Autism – Self Screening Tool
The Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ-30) is a brief, self-administered screening tool developed from the original 50-item AQ by Professor Simon Baron-Cohen and colleagues at the Autism Research Centre, University of Cambridge. This 30-item shortened version is designed to identify traits commonly associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in adults. It explores areas such as social communication, routines, sensory sensitivity, and focused interests.
When answering the above questions please consider how much the statements apply to you.
The above 30 questions may be useful to understand if you are experiencing some of the common behaviours and thoughts associated with being on the Autistic Spectrum. The questions are based on an evidence-based screening tool – the Autism Spectrum Quotient – but are indicative only and do not form a formal diagnosis. The only way to know for sure if you have Autism is through a professional assessment.
